Chestnut party

It is a popular festival that celebrates the arrival of autumn. These parties are organized between the 31 October day and 11 of November, San Martin.
Popular legends say that once, during all saints' night, All Souls Day vigil, church bells rang all night.
They played to death until dawn to warn the people that the time had come to pray to the deceased. Friends and family accompanied the bell ringers in their difficult task, while sharing chestnuts, winter fruit of great energy value.
There are many regions of northern Spain that celebrate the arrival of cold with roasted chestnuts, although it is a celebration extended to many other parts of the country.
Although in each locality there is a different tradition, all of them have the chestnut in common.
It is an ancestral festival in which a bonfire is lit in the field and once the embers are ready, chestnuts are spread on a container or metal foil with holes.
So that the chestnuts do not jump or explode, a cut is made at one end. Once roasted, they are peeled and eaten. It is traditional to smudge your face with the remains of the bonfire, with the coals; jump the bonfires, tell stories and sing popular songs.
Celebrating this party is a ritual that has the chestnut as its protagonist. This fruit of high nutritional value and humble appearance announces the arrival of the cold and makes us dream of the not too distant Christmas.
When it comes time to harvest chestnuts
The chestnut tree, the chestnut tree,

The skirt makes her bell,His shoes are ringing, clock! And when you dance it always turns like that.
